On Saturday, June 10th at 7:30pm, the Jim Ocean band will take the stage at the MDUUC Event Center (as part of a benefit bash for Bay Area climate justice non-profits, including Sustainable Walnut Creek, 350 Bay Area and 350 Contra Costa) with a live performance of their new album, "FrankenClime" -- a humor-infused rock ‘n’ roll monster mash spotlighting the environmental challenges of the times.

In addition to the music—doors open at 6:30pm—this lively action-packed event includes a “trashy fashion” runway show co-produced by Ellie Treanor, DnA Sustainable Threds, and RC Ferris. Guests are encouraged to join the fun by wearing their best upcycled/re-designed clothing or homemade costumes sourced from recycled materials. A selection of vendors will showcase their services or sell their unique “sustainability products''.

Inspiring messages from those on the front lines of the environmental/sustainability movement will be peppered throughout the evening. Singer-songwriter Joe Peters will open the second set of the show with a sampling of his Joedai Warriors tunes. Strap on your dancing shoes and prepare to get down with the Jim Ocean Band.

Guests are encouraged to bring an item for the sustainability-in-action “Bring an item, take an item” upcycle booth – a fun way to find a new home for a like-new, no-longer-needed household item, or those unwanted gift items you’ve been holding onto.

This is your chance to Party for the Planet while supporting the good work of Sustainable Walnut Creek, 350 Bay Area and 350 Contra Costa. Premium beer and wine will be available for sale, and a sampling of yummy snacks/desserts will be available for free. By the way, this concert will be professionally recorded and videotaped.
