About Jim's Satirical Songs

These songs were written over a 20 year time period when I toured coast to coast in several satirical singing groups. We had the good fortune of performing in some of the nation's best clubs, theaters and festivals. In writing these songs I tried my best to come up with ideas that I hadn't heard before. The songs satirize personal relationships with psychological and sociological subject matter. It was fantastic to watch people laugh so hard from the stage for so many years.

Some of the songs were recorded 'live' at the Musician's Coffeehouse Concerts in Walnut Creek, CA., and Strings Performing Showcase in Emeryville, CA.  The studio recordings were done at Bigger Dog Studios in Nashville, TN recorded with the house band for the 'Grand Ol Opry' , and at Emerald City Studios in San Francisco. My satirical song-writing influences include Steven Sondheim, Tom Lehrer, Randy Newman and many others not so well known.
